What is a webinar?
Life Support Services would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your past patronage in maintaining your resuscitation certifications.
We at Life Support Services remain committed to providing you with educational opportunities that assist you in maintaining your required resuscitation certifications to meet your employment requirements and more importantly to provide you with an educational experience that help you to provide the highest quality of care to your patients. In keeping with this commitment Life Support Services has expanded our educational offerings from resuscitation specific courses to General CEU courses. At this time Life Support Services is offering four CEU classes that will be offered as both seminars and webinars. If you are not familiar with the webinar style of attending a conference, I would like to take a minute and point out some of the advantages to this form of conference. First NO TRAVEL you are able to attend the course from the comfort of your home or any place that you have a computer and internet connection. Second a webinar is not a recorded message that you just push play and hope you understand the message. During a webinar you are logged into a virtual classroom with a live real time instructor and other participants. You will view the slides on your computer and listen to the speaker either through your computer or on your phone. Last you are able to ask questions and interact with the speaker and potentially the other participants.
At this time Life Support Services is offering the following CEU lectures:
Contemporary Treatments in Diabetes - 2 credits
12 Lead ECG Interpretation in ACS (acute coronary syndrome) – 7 credits
Advances in Stroke Treatment – 2 credits
Acute Coronary Syndrome Case Studies- Treating the “not so simple” MI – 2 credits
All CEU credits are provided by the ENA.
This continuing education activity was approved by the Emergency Nurses Association, an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
We at Life Support Services feel these offerings are relevant to all nurses in the acute care setting and look forward to meeting you in one of our seminars or webinars in the near future.

Acute Coronary Syndrome Case Studies – Treating the “Not-So-Simple” MI
We all learned the classic signs of Acute Myocardial Infarction; crushing substernal chest pain radiating to the left arm and jaw, difficulty breathing….. The problem is the “classic” presentation does not hold true for much of the population! We have all also had tons of training on handling a “simple” MI. This presentation will take you through six “not so simple” presentations using case studies from real patients to highlight differences in presentations to watch for. The primary goal is to make you more comfortable with recognizing who is likely to present atypically and what their “typical” presentation could be. And to how to use this information the next time you are caring for a suspected ACS (acute coronary syndrome) patient.
This discussion will provide you with 2.0 CEU’s that will be offered in both a webinar format as well as traditional seminar format.
Contemporary Diabetes Mellitus Treatment
The course will review the pathophysiology of diabetes. Complications associated with diabetes. Discuss and differentiate the two primary types of diabetes. Discuss common signs and symptoms of a person who may have diabetes. Discuss difference in treatment of the two different types of diabetes. Discuss/review potential medical urgencies and emergencies directly related to diabetes as well as medical conditions that can develop and/or progress more rapidly because of diabetes. Discuss current treatments for as we all as what’s on the horizon for treatment/prevention options for the at risk/diabetic patient.
This discussion will provide you with 2.0 CEUs and will be offered in both a webinar format as well as a traditional seminar format
Our Pivotal Role in Acute Stroke Survival
Stroke treatment and the capacity to improve stroke patient outcome has changed drastically over the past five years. In 2000 in its publication, Circulation, The American Heart Association / American Stroke Association in Circulation 2000 recommends many changes to the management of acute stroke patients. These recommendations were updated in 2007. The core of these recommendations is the rapid identification, transport (if necessary) and rapid treatment of patients who may benefit from fibrinolytic therapy. The advent of primary stroke centers and telemedicine coupled with the ongoing development of comprehensive stroke centers has forever changed the approach to treating a patient with an acute stroke.
This discussion will provide you with 2.0 CEUs and will be offered in both a webinar format as well as a traditional seminar format
12 Lead ECG Interpretation in Acute Coronary Syndromes
This 12 Lead Interpretation course will build from the basics of 12 lead interpretation to learning how to use the 12 lead to help recognizing changes indicative of an ischemic event and how to use that information to determine from those changes which part of the myocardium is being affected. This course is designed for the beginner through the experienced provider that is looking for a review.
This course will provide 7.0 CEUs and will be provided in a seminar format.
